LRA Partners
City of Lakewood City Manager's Office
Lakewood's Department of City Manager's Office houses the staff of the LRA and facilitates urban renewal projects in Lakewood. The LRA is also staffed part-time by other departments in the City.
City of Lakewood Public Works Deparment oversees projects and activities that affect the physical and economic structure of Lakewood as a community. Public Works works with City Council, Planning Commission, other public agencies, the development community, other City departments and citizens to achieve quality development and redevelopment.
Lakewood Economic Development is dedicated to sustaining a strong economic base while maintaining quality of life and the vitality of our community. The division strives to create and build an environment that preserves, attracts and promotes business growth while working as an advocate and information resource for businesses. The mission is the division is to retain existing employers and jobs, and recruit new employers who provide our community with quality employment. Lakewood Economic Development strives to be an active participant in the west Denver business community and business associations, as well as providing technical assistance with special projects.
Alameda Gateway Community Association
Since 1996, the Alameda Gateway Community Association and its members have actively promoted the business and social interests of merchants, property owners and residents in Lakewood's vital Alameda Corridor. The Alameda Gateway Community Association meets the first Wednesday of every month at the Learning Source, 455 S. Pierce Street in Lakewood.
Alameda Corridor Business Improvement District
The Alameda Corridor Business Improvement District implements specific initiatives and programs designed to improve the overall appearance and enhance the economic viability of the Alameda Corridor from Sheridan Boulevard to Carr Street. The ACBID has a joint grant initiative with the LRA which are designed to augment the vitality of the corridor through improvement of the overall appearance of commercial properties. The ACBID strongly promotes the facilitated development of complimentary "World Class" properties and developments along the entire Alameda Corridor including the Federal Center.
Downtown Colorado, Inc. is a nonprofit, membership association committed to building better communities by providing assistance to Colorado downtowns, commercial districts and town centers. DCI is also the state-wide coordinator for the Colorado Main Street Program.
West Colfax Community Association
Business owners, residents, neighborhood organizations, property owners and others interested in the viability of the Colfax Corridor formed the West Colfax Community Association. The goals of the organization are to enhance the economic vitality of the area of West Colfax Avenue, provide opportunities to residents, neighborhood groups, business people and commercial property owners to work together to enhance the health of the area, implement projects to improve the image of the area, and to organize events to bring people to the area for shopping and recreation.
