Employees' Committee for a Sustainable Lakewood
Using the city's Comprehensive Plan as a guide, Lakewood has established the Employees’ Committee for a Sustainable Lakewood to research goals of sustainability for not only City offices and services, but also to research the vision of where Lakewood should be environmentally in the future.  Our cross-departmental committee is establishing what the City needs to do in order to become a more sustainable and green city.  The goals and the purpose of the sub-committee are to make internal City operations more coordinated and sustainable, to establish education and outreach programs both externally and internally, to make suggestions about Lakewood’s municipal and regional sustainability policy and to research ideas and serve as a “think tank” to encourage sustainable choices and practices.

The GEO administers a variety of programs.
