Animal Control Information
The mission of Lakewood Animal Control is to provide safety and public service to citizens while protecting the welfare of animals through enforcement and education.
Animal Control officers provide services involving animal-related offenses of the municipal code. These include responding to leash law violations, investigating animal cruelty, neglect, animal noise complaints, regulating aggressive and dangerous animals, rabies control, bite investigations and dog licensing. Other services we provide include wildlife conflict-monitoring and educational presentations.
Animal Control is staffed seven days a week, including holidays. Although hours vary, they extend beyond normal business hours.
