Preventing crime involves everyone. The police and the community must work together to reduce crime and improve the quality of life. The Lakewood Police Department's crime prevention programs are designed to engage citizens and provide quality education.  The Lakewood Police Department offers many different crime prevention programs, all aimed at reducing crime.

Lakewood Economic Development arranges meetings between local businesses and the Lakewood Police Department to address and help prevent crimes in our business community.  These meetings can count toward the Small Business Academy grant program.
